omg why do people think the drums in that song are so good? As a drummer of 15 years I can tell you

that nothing about what he plays in that song is special. It sounds cool, yes...but very simplistic.

They boosted the volume to the drums and added a bunch of reverb in the mix to make the parts sound

bigger than life.

Well...started about 13 years ago, but there has been 1 or 2 year long droughts sprinkled throughout. So probably around 5 or 6 years unfortunately. Drums will always be my favorite thing in the world though, and now I'm mostly focusing on getting my 3 year old into them and he has loved them from the get go.

Jammed this last night while tired as shit. Everytime a long instrumental part would come on I would doze off only to get jerked awake when Maynard would start shouting. I guess it was an interesting experience lol

I think the scariest part is when I fall asleep to the intro of The Patient and then get the life scared out of me when it kicks in haha

Hmm fair enough, I can see why people get annoyed with Aenima, but I dunno it just has raw energy, which I will take any day over the technical stuff 10'000 Day's. Luckily Lateralus seems to have the perfect blend of the two

I don't get what's so great about Aenima, it isn't nearly as engaging, mysterious or intricate. It has some cool moments but never enough to hold my attention throughout. Dare I even say it is a great- excellent album?
