Told my buddy who loves Underoath to listen to the new track, and he said it sounds like a progression from They're Only Chasing Safety as opposed to a progression from their later stuff, which I agree with.

Wouldn't be surprised. They had been chasing the afterlife/end of everything/tragedy!/futile existence bit for years on end. I loved Disambiguation just as much as the next guy but ya gotta move on from that shit, otherwise it'll eventually just come out as unoriginal.

sounds like they took a backing track from Disambiguation and threw some melodies from TOCS over the top. It's a little weird but HQ did increase my enjoyment quite a bit
