I think arguing best for QOTSA all comes down to what style of theirs you prefer, their earlier stuff has the more hard line stoner rock edge where as their later stuff has become more traditional rock in a sense. I think this is hands down their most well rounded record soundwise and why I prefer it the most, although I still love Rated R and Songs for the Deaf, this just to me is the better overall package.

I just put this being regarded as their best as a bit of a sputnomaly - far too ploddy overall c'mon, it's well written plod but plod it remains

Just do a 10 second sample of all the tempos, super slow for a rock album, too slow imo and this does drag as a start-to-finish listen

The fuck does speed have to do with whether rock music is good? They've never been a hardcore band or anything lol. In terms of overall songwriting this is probably their finest album imo

This is such a glorious return since Lullabies, even if Era Vulgaris had some great tracks and Them Crooked Vultures was a banger of an album. High hopes for the follow-up.

I'm glad CL0VER agrees with me on something, that hasn't been something i've seen in almost half a year now.

In all seriousness Doof, you are both pretentious and completely average in one of the most boring and furious ways possible. You have a way of trying to downplay albums with complaints that don't even mean anything. Ploddy? Do you mean "plodding" as in it's "plodding along" like a down syndrome rabbit or ... ???? What does that even mean doof?
