"Just, t/t and Telex (if you count that) are the only good rockers here, slow songs are defs where it's at"
Nah My Iron Lung's great, most interesting guitar work on the album and witty lyrics

With that said Planet Telex is the only pre-1997 Radiohead song I'd ever put on a top 20 Radiohead list

lmao as though anyone listens to the Bends for interesting guitar work

I mean yeah the instrumentals on this album for the most part are lackluster as hell, and the lyrics are often very blah, it's kinda why the rockers are typically better because the slower songs aren't lyrically compelling enough to make up for how little they have to go on musically
Planet Telex and honestly My Iron Lung are the only songs that REALLY seem to be trying to shake things up, with the rest being radio-friendly alt rock that would've ended up being treated like Oasis is if it weren't for OK Computer and so on happening
I mean there's a reason Radiohead don't play songs from this album live anymore y'know

I unironically think this has some of the best guitar work in fairly concise songwriting contexts out there :-/

And yeah I much prefer the slower cuts here, these guys just aren’t a great rock band. Thom’s voice adds flavour to the quieter moments, regardless of whether they’re creative instrumentally or not.
Street Spirit is a genuinely great Radiohead track.

I gave this a full relisten for the first time today in years and it made me lower my score for this :|
Street Spirit's deff like top 4, but I'd also argue there are only 4 good songs on here
I've not convinced the slow songs on here except Street Spirit are anything special, especially knowing that Radiohead would eventually be capable of stuff like How to Disappear Completely, Pyramid Song, All I Need, and Lucky

By their standards, perhaps not. 3/5 is probably about right for this tbh.
Nostalgic benefit of the doubt.

"these guys just aren’t a great rock band." LOL!

Yeah I'm not buying that. When these guys actually unleash they're up their with the best of them.
Both guitar solos on Paranoid Android are godly.

Yeah no I don't agree with that either.

Paranoid Android is the exception, great song.
It certainly isn’t Radiohead’s strength though, the majority of their best material doesn’t really fall within the rock wheelhouse, or if it does then it skirts right around the edges.

IDK There There, Bodysnatchers, Airbag, are all great rockers too

Yeah, I was thinking about Thief and Rainbows too. Next to the obvious highs from OKC of course.
