I can see you is easily one of my top 3 neurosis songs

Seasons/No River/Bridges are pretty squarely where this one's at for me. Am due a catchup with most Neurosis records though, would love to hear Souls, TOG, ASTNS and GTTR esp with a fresh set of ears

TOG is goated. The rest is good

I haven't listened to a single track since the Scott Kelly news
I dont know what to make of all of it anymore
Tsib and astns will probably always be 2 of the most important albums for me ever. Just dont feel like listening to any of it anymore

You know how many bands you listen to that have abusive piece of shit members that never surface to the public? Cmon bro

Any updates with the vocalist of this band? Last I heard a couple of years ago he quit music due to allegations of domestic abuse.

He admitted that all the allegations are true. The rest of the band has distanced themselves from him

homie isn't even in the music industry anymore.

'I haven't listened to a single track since the Scott Kelly news'
I still listen to their music semi-regularly. Blasted out TSIB last week in fact. Enjoyed it thoroughly. I feel for anyone who can't. MAYBE I'm too much of a selfish prick to stop it from hurting my relationship with their music, but idk I would imagine any abstention isn't an entirely 'conscious' decision anyway so perhaps I just got lucky?
...and yeah, this was once my fave but I do yearn for 'more sludge' (3) in my Neurosis these days. I've put this on the back burner and almost exclusively listen to the era(s) before this now

The only band I can’t listen to anymore is lostprophets which isn’t a big loss cause they were never very good anyway. In this scenario, if you had some deep connection with the lyrics and now you just find it hypocritical, then sure. But idk not being able to listen to the music anymore because of one of the members when all the others did the right thing and completely condemned him seems kinda unfair. But it’s ultimately up to how you feel ig

Just remember that it took many many people to bring these records into a reality than just Scott Kelly and it makes it a much simpler equation. Think of the rest of the band that put their heart and soul into it. Think of the Steve Albini etc, think of every person that room mic'd a kit or mastered the records, stuffed vinyls and created the artwork. Scott Kelly is just a piece to the puzzle even though it seems he is at the forefront of the band.
|
| |
Yeah I would have a real hard time stopping listening to this band cause of the drummer alone

Honestly the Scott Kelly news was only part of it. I've been on a permanent dm bender for like 4-5 years

extra condolences :[
neurosis were always more force-of-nature than personality band to me and it's hardly a brand new-type scenario where you could always tell that something was off about the guy, so don't think scott kelly's fall from grace is going to be much of a dealbreaker for their old stuff
|
| |
Dude I was watching some live shows from 95 these guys were so far ahead of their time too bad kelly is a shit person. Was a good band
