what did i say right before that big guy? Oh well if you want to be this stubborn I guess I'll play
devils advocate. Cinema is a practice only about a century old, it is predominantly (at least
initially) a Western culture practice, while music predates recorded human history and is found in
virtually every culture in existence. You should and do expect to see more imitation and the
repetition of various techniques in cinema, most directors are well familiarized with the works of
classic cinema such as Citizen Kane and use these same established techniques regarding lighting,
camera angles and laying out what fits on the screen etc etc today.
In music, there is not one source of traditional knowledge, different music genres take different
aspects of different musics in the past, and because of this lack of known-tradition to listeners
(as informed viewers of movies possess), it makes it much easier to create original work - when you
know your audience is (relatively ) more of a blank slate
