Controversial opinion but I find Disarm overrated

It depends on the context/venue. I find Today to be fairly simplistic in the grand scheme of the album, but I heard it at a local bar the other night amidst good times and they had it cranked; it sounded fucking fantastic.

^ yeah that's basically my stance on it as well by this point

always found it to be one of their more "plodding" songs & frankly i pretty much always skip it

Disarm on the other hand i don't find overrated, beautiful fucking song

Rocket is the unsung hero of those 4 singles tho, such a strange & cool song

It is a great song but I just don't see it as the grand song that a lot of you guys see it as. Nothing wrong with having that opinion of course.

My favorites are Hummer, Soma, and Mayonaise. Very original picks I know lol

Even if i don't always listen to it anymore, it's an exorcism of a childhood's worth of demons over a set of simplet yet effective chords sequences & one of the most effective string/percussion combos i've ever heard in a "rock" song - the first time it "clicked" with me it was a relevatory experience & one of the most resonant i've ever had with someone else's music, tho i suppose the same could be said for a lot of their SD-Machina discography

“[A reunion tour] has been knocked about,” says Corgan. “There’s certainly gears that turn and things get waved around, but until it’s inked, I’m in the dark as much as anybody … But I’ll say this and I mean it: If we never play a note together again, that’s OK. I’m way, way more interested in the fact that we have peace with each other. I’ve reached the point in my life where I’m not in a hurry to get to anything. If it’s there, great. If it’s not, cool.”
