I wouldn't even say Mars To Sirus sounds like this. If you like prog you'll enjoy it, that's all that needs to be said really. Prog with so damn fine melody nessled in it.

They're both prog, but emphasize very different elements of prog. Plus Gojira has death metal influences.

Gojira's more deathy, Mastodon's more proggy, whatever. They made for a great pairing on their last tour and Mastodon was hugely improved as far as stage presence and energy.

the crowd during Gojira was the most intense I've ever been in. people flying over the barrier and the bassist surfing for a whole song...just crazy. I had bruises across my chest for days haha.

Gojira's last album was sweet and the one before that was pretty good too. Never heard any more.

I find all their albums quite overlong and tedious to listen to, but live they are absolutely fantastic. I don't know what it is, on record they're so boring, but in a live setting they are captivating to watch.
