Agreed.

As much as I like Gilmour's voice this album wouldn't have sounded right if he'd sung most of it as this album is obviously very personal to Roger and the emotion comes through in his voice, whereas with The Wall I would have liked to hear Gilmour sing more.

^ Yep. Roger's vocals are just fine on this but The Wall probably would've been a 5 if Gilmour (and, for that matter, Wright) had done the majority of the vocals rather than Waters.

Gilmour is one of my favourite vocalists too but there's no way he could have sung this album with as much emotion and feeling as Waters. The album would be nowhere near as effective had he been the lead vocalist.

Same goes for some parts of Animals too.

Yeah, Gilmour's vocals are definitely up there with the best, but he just doesn't have that cynical, sarcastic sting in his voice that Waters has, which is pretty essential to the feel and flow of this album.
