As much as I love Periphery at their most progressive and expansive, this really does work for me. Second half doesn't hit quite as well but I do love the title track

Yeah second half sadly does go down in quality, but at least it ends on a high note.

I'm gonna be a predictable simp because this is and has been my favorite band for a little over a decade now but man, I love this. I find this so much more palatable to listen to all the way through than P5, which has an amazing first half but I burn out by the last song. Even the songs I don't super care about on here (Neon Valley, Unlocking) I'm perfectly happy to keep on. Probably my album of the year but Above, Below's album is reeeeeeally close and if Loathe keeps up their level of quality with ITIIAITE then that might take over by default, idk.
I also finally sat down and listened while reading the lyrics on the record sleeve. Man, this shit is so depressing lol. Everyone Dies Alone is easily their most somber song lyrically imo.

Well finally listening to this. At least it seems like they're trying to shift things up after P5 (at least for me) felt like it was just retreading the same ground.

Heavy album. Thanks

P5 to be personally changed everything. They destroyed that album

Heavy but not really interesting. I don't think I'm coming back to this any time soon. Bring on P6 with some more progriphery

Fair enough. I like that energy

some of this is pretty awesome and then there's other parts that are just awful. The good's outweighing the bad but this is a tough album to rate lately.

The weaker moments here don't bother me as much since the songs are shorter. Neon Valley and Unlocking are kinda whatever but they aren't autoskips for me like Silhouette or Price is Wrong.
I really love how thunderous their new baritones sound though.

Neon Valley and T/T are timeless tracks for this band actually lol

I LOVE the title track. I wouldn't be mad if they did a whole EP of that kind of song.
Neon Valley is fine but it just doesn't stimulate me the same way something like Carry On does, for whatever reason.
