"i find it funny that coctaeu twins' influence is most heavily felt in the metal scene, rather than say indie or alt rock or whatever"

trying to muster a response to this but I believe you've dumbfounded me beyond the point of redemption, as all I can think of is... eh, really?

I've only heard the debut by these guys (just this week) and I don't mind a few of their ideas, but the production could certainly have been better. I see people are repping their previous effort.

This is a good effort

Blastbeatless blackgaze, which is not bad thing, surprisingly.

@Demon - its not really needing a response mate. it was just an observation, perhaps an incorrect one, but it was a thought that popped into my head halfway through this. i certainly dont see the influence from those bands in the current indie or alt rock scenes like you see it in records like this

That's the part that was missing for me :[ I wanted more intensity in the drums

Ahh, I didn’t realise you were talking current scenes. It’s still a perplexing statement on the surface simply because it sounds unbelievable, but then admittedly I’m not so up on the specifics (i.e. blackgaze)

Diorama was a step up from the debut. The harder hitting parts just had a bit more oomph. Idk it was a better direction maybe. Probably check that one again. Still, prod reservations persist.

Struggling with this one unfortunately. It has possibly the best production for their sound as the clarity and punch are both present, yet leans too much in a direction I don’t really vibe with. It’s a bit all over the place. The cleans are horrendously bad, it must be said, lol

@hawks

The new Deftones was the one for me. I listen to that album non stop for 3 weeks straight. I finally had to give it a break. I’ve been playing this quite a bit.
