That's how I went through this band, and I kind of prefer it that way. Actually, I would have preferred to skip the Mantle and get it last, but oh well.

I don't know someguest, with statements like this:

This is easily one of the greatest metal albums in existance.

it's hard not to think that your knowledge of metal is minimal next to rasputins (not to sound like an elitist asshole hahaha). Album is too stripped down to even compete with Pale Folklore.

I just re-read my comment above, sorry to sound like a dick hahaha. I hear what you're saying, but I would say that Pale Folklore has more in common (in terms of the bleak, folk atmosphere) with Bergtatt than this. This feels more like a folky Isis to me.

I love Pale Folklore too, but the lyrics are kinda ridiculous on that album. I love the lyrics on this one so much more - they just seem more epic and not as cheesy. And Wizard, you did sound like a big dick hahah

Been doing that alot lately, unintentionally though. Just trying to start a good, friendly debate.

debates are good because everyone has a different view on their music, just don't let them get out of hand...

Listening to this for the first time in like 4 months, I have no clue why I ever stopped listening to this like I used to.
