I can now understand the hate for this band a lot more. When I first heard of this band, I thought it was trash. It felt too poppy and the metal elements weren't as consistent. Since Take Me Back to Eden the metal parts are more consistently there, but that doesnt make them a metal band. They are a pop band with breakdowns, and I and a lot of other people have been brainwashed into thinking they are metal just cause they have a breakdown in their songs. A new way should be defined what equates to being really "metal". For starters, it has to have a riff that feels like the driving force to the song. While I no longer see Sleep Token as a metal band, I still find their music quite enjoyable. I still find them one of the better pop bands with breakdowns, personally.
