I've tried over and over to see the appeal with these guys. I've gotten numerous songs recommended to me and none of them give me the impression that these guys are pushing the boundaries of music. I don't dislike this band because they are popular, I dislike this band because they are mediocre at best.

I dont listen to brutal death at all, shits boring. Now crust black metal with vocals that are illegible sign me the fuck up. My mind doesnt need to be opened to this band, it tried it realised "nah this aint it fam" and shut that door and went and jammed Thy Catalfaque instead

Ectier, he was just joking by the way lol. I love all types of metal though realistically and even if I don't, I'll at least try to approach it with an open mind. Can't always say I'll like the results but at least I gave it some effort. I struggle with really high pitched vocals so a lot of power metal and thrash gets lost to me. If i don't like the vocals I can't get into it, period

Strangely for me it's often deeper tone vocalists I struggle with, vastly prefer tenor/contralto pitch. Vessel is just a weird exception that I'm not even sure how I managed to get into
