-Ashok isn’t cheating. While the turmoil of being in the band has taken its toll on us, we remain very much certain that we love each other. Please be kind to my husband. He is a good man.
-We were already planning to leave the band later this year. Certain events have sped that up for me.

That looks like the smoking gun there. They still love each other, but the stress of touring was taking a toll on their marriage. So the decision was made to leave for the sake of their marriage. If my wild speculation based off a single sentence turns out to be true, I get it.

Within Temptation did something similar with Sharon and the guitar player (whose name eludes me because Sharon is the band) where touring was tearing them apart so the guitar player left and she stayed so they could stay married. The difference was Within Temptation is their band and without Sharon there is no Within Temptation, so she couldn't leave too.

Being in a band as a married couple sounds horrible ngl. Maybe I'm just a pessimist but I can't imagine mixing your career with your marriage.
