thanks, hope you dig! as time goes on the more i really enjoy good piano. and good drums. my two big bread and butter instruments. You can give me all the crazy solos and basslines you want and i'll still pop harder for a nice groove and good piano arrangements

Choosing to listen to Manson in 2024 is cringe enough. Writing a pity piece about him and giving him this much airtime and benefit of the doubt says a lot about one's character. No matter how much of a 'fanboy' you are and how much hero worship you have for this man, you need to take a step back and look at how much of a massive fucking scumbag he is and have some empathy for his victims.

I always enjoy reading threads like this, but it is definitely stupid to dump people’s ratings into it. I’ll fucking 5 a secondhand serenade album if you clowns keep that up

Such an obscenely low bar to clear.

It's not entirely necessary to join the dogpile, but it's a little bit of bad faith to totally disregard the mere possibility MM may not in fact have zero remorse for what he *might* have done by just giving the allegations a brief lookover and ending it with "well he isn't a fat tub of lard anymore he's so fucking back"? I'm genuinely curious what the logic here is, because him "looking good" isn't necessarily relevant to the music being talked about here and reads more like your average tabloid blurb, especially since the aforementioned allegations and their supposed effect on MM plays a part in this album and is worth going more into if it matters that much.

It’s got everything to do with it. Dude has been a fat slop for a decade, and with everything that’s gone on it’s pushed him to get clean and focus on music.

Okay, sure, but what does it have to do with the themes of the album? You know, the thing you're talking about? What difference does it make to the average person if he's a total junkie slob or if he's back to being a string bean?

Well if you’ve read the review from start to finish, it talks about how complacent he has been since tgaog. Even his last 3 albums, while great, lack substance from his part of the songwriting. On here, it’s blatantly obvious he’s put a lot of time and effort into what he’s making. Controversy aside, this is hands down the best thing he’s written since holy wood, and his sobriety and weight loss play a part in that.

Respectfully, I don’t think you can really say “controversy aside” here lol

Seriously, it’s absolutely pointless me even trying to explain it, because the majority of you have already made your minds up. So carry on as you are. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

"Well if you’ve read the review from start to finish, it talks about how complacent he has been since tgaog"

I am capable of reading, thank you. Are you? Because you have yet to answer any of the questions I have asked before. I don't care if he's lost weight or decided to coast on being the biggest edgelord your average hot topic teen has ever heard. No one reading this does. You continue to push aside the controversy when it obviously influenced Manson, which is funny since he has constantly courted controversy as a part of his music. This has always been the one singular constant in his career. I have no horse in this race, nor do I have any interest in dragging you down when you clearly have some sort of close investment in MM and his music. I can't fault you for that.

i tried explaining the issues i have with this review in a respectful manner, gave you the opportunity to engage in meaningful discourse/explain yourself and you.. didn't lol

so yeah that makes it pretty easy for me to "make up my mind" and acknowledge that you writing a summary from the pov of an alleged abuser being some sort of cool tortured soul is fucking weird
