Looks Like Nothing is the best song any of these dudes have been involved in

You could say that about half the songs here tbh

absolutely cannot stand the vocal performance on Looks Like Nothing, bafflingly awful cleans all over it (not normally a gripe I have with these guys)

Hall of Frozen Heads was good. I really should have just sat down with the album earlier so I could at least hear the whole thing once. But I just picked two random songs, Dead Internet being the other one. Which eh better than Hell '99 I guess but not by much. I suppose I wasn't ready for how jarring these songs with screaming actually were and I thought I liked some screamo haha

theres some Arcade Fire vibes on here. Barking for example

This is very good, but “Children of the Moon” still takes aoty. There isn’t a song on there I dislike, but “cleaning” on here does absolutely nothing for me. Still, very good release. (2)
Agree hard on the first part, but Cleaning has absolutely grown on me but the Dead duo i could do without

Children of the Moon definitely clears this fairly easily. I think Hall of Frozen Heads is the best thing here and maybe the best thing they’ve done to date. Greyhound is also up there but I heard it a lot prior to the album release.
@doof - I just checked your rym ratings for this and mine is the exact same haha

NMG is still is my favorite, but they really added a good new entry to their discography with this one.

yeah im just glad they have another album that i love since it really was just nearer my god before this + select songs from the other albums
also although i like nearer my god more, i think this lineup is the strongest theyve been from a "being able to hear everyones distinct contributions" perspective. basically what im saying is the new bassist rocks and really helps complete them

Agreed on the dead duo here as well, not hitting me much.
NMG still takes my favorite Foxing record, but as was mentioned this is another good album in their discography.

“theres some Arcade Fire vibes on here.”
Absolutely. Greyhound has some Neon Bible vibes in the second verse
Personally, I love Cleaning and it and Barking are a great duo. Although I fail to see Arcade Fire between those two. They are absolutely M83 vibes for me. Cleaning, more like something like “Klaus, I Love You,” and Barking like something from S=Y. I feel somewhat bad making all these comparisons, as it makes it sound unoriginal, but I guess what they do with it is somewhat original though. Hall of Frozen heads gives me The Bends vibes. And the title of it sounds like it could fit on there too
I honestly think this could be my favorite Foxing album, and Dealer is hard to top. Though comparing this to Dealer feels a bit goofy as I don’t think they have a single thing in common

“bafflingly awful cleans all over it”
Gosh looks like nothing is far and away the best any of them have ever sounded, imo. That sounds like what I’d say about NMG. Like looks like nothing has baffling vocals but heartbeats, crown candy, GameShark, lich prince all exist. To me all of those are much more baffling in the vocal department. Then on the flip side of that, the title track sounds phenomenal. Idk. Needed more songs like that.

Cleaning is my only skip cuz I've never have had a furry pet die on me and otherwise theres not much going on musically. It is sad though.
