Im ngl, this album has not stuck with me at all
1. Exul // 4.5 (best track on the album, still not as good as PoI tracks though)
2. Misericorde I // 3.5 (I struggle to even recall this song, I wish I could, really I do, it's just not that memorable to me)
3. Misericorde II // 4 (slightly preferred to part I though wow is it long winded)
4. Suspyre // 3.5 (unfortunately it's more of the same story as Mis I, this feels like a NeO song written by an AI, it's best way for to explain my feelings towards it)
5. Graal // 4 (adequate track, though nothing mind blowing, I think that even Intra Venus is better than this song)
6. Anhedonia // 3.5 (decent outro though nothing crazy)
This is my stance on it for now, it just did not hitting me the way I wanted, maybe I'll change my mind in the future who knows

Holy fuck that was amazing. Set was Ocean, rivers, NeO. The ocean fucking crushed, loic handed me the mic for Jurrassic, they played Pleitoscene. The one track off Holocene was way better live. Rivers was fine i guess, the sax backtrack was really rough probably should have been deeper in the mix. New vocalist does a good job. NeO as usual knocked it out of the park. I think its criminally understated by how good of a front man Tim Charles is

yerh so fuken had a near identical experience to ectier last night, one of the best concerts i been to. was floored by how impactful and sludgey the ocean was compared to their albums, which honestly just seem to plod along. the lead singer was addicted to crowd surfing as well, the moshpit ended up having to hold him up like he was the messiah for half the set lmao.
also had the privilege of moshing with beard man from rivers, and talked to the drummer as well, whos an absolute sick kunt
then of course Neo came on and blew the fucken place apart with majesterial authority. their new drummer is just insane.. best performance i've seen from anyone, maybe excluding haake, because haake. and yeh tim charles (the most fitting name in the world) is a god at prancing about and acting like a exalted sage from an ashram. gud stuff. very gud stuff indeed

Also Rivers Of Nihil should either fix the Sax backing track or just drop it entirely to be honest. Because it was really rough and sounded off

For some reason I'm able to see the potential and good qualities of this band but they never fully click with me. :S
|
| |
Because they are so tryhard and sometimes their music is “too much”… You either fully appreciate that or it doesn’t click.

I feel this is insanely good, but for some reason I don't ever really return to it all that much. It seems exhausting to throw it on, but I am impressed by everything I hear when its actually rolling. Weird. I felt the same about the Wilderun album last year as well

Ive found they are weird in that Zakusz, more so now ive ventured furthur into other proggy bands. Whats here is stellar and amazing but not something i can jam all the time. My 5 sticks as I do love whats here and have a connection with this band as it was my gateway into proggier material and 10+ minute songs

I love the albums from these guys but I also don't listen to them that often. I think it's mainly because I don't want to "wear it out" too fast?
|
| |
Wooo I get to see them again tomorrow and they're plating Exuul material!

Nice, I just caught them for the first time. They’re without Xen (harsh vox), but seeing them play Forget Not all the way through was a bit of a life highlight for me
|
| |
NOOOIICE
I saw them maybe 5 years ago with Xen and it was transcendent. Tight as tight can get with music so complex. It was basically a perfect set. Excited to see the material now with their live fill in. It's James Dorton from Black Crown Initiate though so I think they're in good hands!
