It took me a bit to adjust to the heavy spoken word ‘MewithoutYou’ kinda vox but they worked after a while

I like how you conveniently left out where I said “heavy.” Fine just heavy spoken word ya happy?

I just can't help feeling that this album peaks in the first track, and then I kind of space out for most of the rest

vocalist sounds dead on like a forest of stars more than any other band

Yeah, there's definitely a strong A Forest of Stars influence here. Used in a much better way than on the first album though. The first one felt like a synthesis of influences but this is a full grown beast.
