The voice that I keep hearing isn't Eddie or Gavin. It's Cantrell (or an imitation of it).

i am seriously worried about how a lot of you seem to be compulsively consuming stuff and swirling around everything like it's *for you* like marauding Content Vultures or like you should be absorbing everything you come across into yourself like there's nothing other than your pornographic urge to consume that can never be satiated. of course i am hypocritical as i've used this website for years but you should delete your accounts and stop self-editing so fastidiously

Why would anyone want to sound like Eddie Vedder, the keeper of sheep? Jeez.
Biohazard was cool, though.

I get the argument of "THIS ISNT FOR YOU!!" (the action index by orchid) but like that's just pushing the line when we can't understand people's perceptions.
Occam's razor is fine here can we not cross that line and make cave in a metaphor of how we are all the same or some im14andthisisadeepcave
I actively force myself to listen to things I don't enjoy on a daily basis so I don't wallow and become creativly bankrupt in musical taste so idk

This album sounds nothing like Pearl Jam lol. There's a rather pronounced Soundgarden and AIC musical influence on some songs, sure, but saying he's copying *insert generic grunge singer* is pretty lazy. I wouldn't put Brodsky up with the best as a vocalist as he has some awkward moments, but he gets the job done and Nate is the finest replacement for Caleb anyone could have asked for. To each their own but it kind of sounds like stigmatized is really reaching with a lot of those criticisms

I would 100% put Hetfield or even John Lennon as a major vocal influence before Vedder or any particular 90s vocalist, especially with the harmonies

ill agree with your second comment because i was like "who again" because i havent paid attention to who's who in grunge anymore lmao, so i was lazy in that respect. BUT you'd be correct on the 2nd point; i can see what you mean.
the grungeness is the problem because they poorly meld the two styles (grunge and whatever metalcore cave in is); as if a cat and dog were put together in the same room. The sound is not suited by the production or brodsky. I like brodsky as a vocalist in every other Cave in release but hearing some of his vocals does feel a bit like his morality is catching up...
grunge can be heavy but this sounds over-processed

I don't really see it as poorly-melded together though. The production is one of the strongest aspects of the record I'd say - the beefy production is a hallmark of Kurt Ballou's style. And imo Brodsky's voice is fine for what they're doing, albeit not as all over the place as he gets with Mutoid. Nate's inclusion also comes with great vocal harmonies which they never really do, not to mention he came up with the best melodies on the record (the major/ minor vocal harmony in Blinded By A Blaze was his idea). I think it comes down to different tastes cuz I'm not seeing this incompatible clash in sonic approaches you're hearing
