Some guess work

I'm havin' the craic on a banjaxed yoke actin' the maggot with my culchie friends, they're quire gas, were havin' a grand ould day eatin' some deadly bonbons from Lidl, I have to go to the jacks in a sec though

I’m having a good one in a stolen thing acting the thief with my Irish friends who are a laugh.
We are having a great day eating biscuits from Lidl but I have to go to the toilet now though.

this album would be so much better without Bloomsday, to the point where i actively delete it from the queue when listening

I'd probably go with that, I'm also not a fan of couple across the way.

Yeah, I think Starbuster and Favourite are phenomenal but they could have really spent a lot longer on the other tracks as they didn't stand out. Still a great record but I feel Romance was beneath what they are potentially capable of

Yeah, new one isn’t their best - and I was anticipating it being their best

Might be the most repeatable start to finish listen though

I think the new one will be a grower, enjoyed it on first listen nonetheless.

Definitely a couple of deep cuts on the new one - ‘Motorcycle Boy’ in particular

romance and starburster start the album in such a cool, ominous way and then they sort of abandon that sound for the rest of the proceedings which is a real shame

Motorcycle Boy stood out to me when I first listened to it.

Death Kink is a solid choice leading up to the Bloc Party tune at the end, which also has grown on me, but mainly just for the way Chatten sings ‘favourite’…sometimes the pronunciation of one word makes a whole song

‘I Still Remember’ is the Bloc Party soundalike for those interested, it was bugging me

I did read someone compare some of their material to The Wedding Present, can’t remember in what context but maybe some vocal deliveries

Collective opinions on In the Modern World? I feel it’s the cheesiest song here but I can’t help but find it well written and delivered in a Coldplay/The National fashion

I’d say the biggest weakness here is the sleepy 1-2 pairing of ‘Sundowner’ and ‘Horseness’ - not bad tracks as such but maybe not great neighbours?
