Sure they have their own thing going on Alex. They wouldn't even exist the way they are if weren't for etid though
Same debate took place when the previous album was out

Y’all can’t possibly tell me you don’t hear even a little bit of southern twang in More and more hands chorus

Still need more spins on this but so far EB seems like a better glued album

imo empty black has better highs, this is more cohesive and has better production

Production here somteimes felt too beefy, while EB more rockish
Its cool they went heavier here tho, unexpected to say the least

"They wouldn't even exist the way they are if weren't for etid though"
what does this even mean lmao?
like i just don't get it... what tracks on here sound like ETID? how does this guys vocals sound anything like Keith Buckley? when were ETID's drums ever this crazy? when were they ever this melodic/reliant on clean vocals? there's like 5x more clean guitars on this album alone than every ETID album combined
like if these were dillinger comparisons i could very much see what yall were coming from but i feel like yall are just throwing the etid comparisons around just to do it lmao

idk his voice reminds me of keith a decent amount, much more than it reminds me of greg (when screaming at least. the cleans are very greg)

also while rym is certainly not an authority on this type of music, i feel vindicated that neither this album or empty black have any southern genre tags, while both having alternative tags
ETID has the southern rock and southern metal tag on nearly every album by comparison

If you think this band is doing anything that ETID isn't able to do, you must've just briefly skimmed over ETID's discog.
Literally everything these guys do, ETID has done. ETID can make a better All Candy in their sleep, and has. They do the southern metal thing better. Shit they've even done the technical shit on Last Night in Town.

Honestly Scoot is right, this falls more in line with He Is Legend than ETID.

"ETID can make a better All Candy in their sleep, and has."
bitch where lmaooooo
not to say they couldn't, but there most certainly is not a song anything like that in the etid discog
and what etid songs have calculating infinity style tapping sections?
or the etid songs that utilize clean guitars for large portions of their runtimes?
how many ETID songs are even as slow in tempo as the majority of this album?
also at no point did i say these guys are better than etid lmao. etid does basically one sound and they do it to perfection... these guys aren't as good obv but they are far more dynamic and varied than etid ever really showed themselves to be on any one album except for maybe radical
