And I’ve always felt helvetesfonster is just pure filler.

The real gems on Prequelle are Miasma, like you said Witch Image, and Faith for me.

Rats is fine, I like See The Light. But this record is just banger after banger imo.

I know I’ve said it before but Watcher in the Sky is the only dud on here for me.

The verse in Faith is so good.

Watcher is great too. In fact it's amazing that this band can still make such good music.

New video for Spillways, so good. Hands down my favorite on the album.

Probably my favorite behind Hunters Moon.

I should not like this record as much as I do. A lot of the songs have such basic verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus songwriting. But the songs are so damn catchy, the solos absolutely shred, the thing has riffs for days, and the rhythm section is tight as hell.

Mainstream rock done right imo

Second half falls a bit flat for me compared to Prequelle but first half is top Ghost.

Way too polished, poppy, and contrived...

This is Kiss when they hit their disco-era. Started off all dark and gritty, then lost their way and tried being something they weren't.

Sure, some decent songs here and there, but nothing that even remotely resembles the can't-skip-a-track consistency of those first few albums.

"In fact it's amazing that this band can still make such good music."

It helps have to hire on some pop song writers although that's far from a new thing even for rock/metal.

Oh, who else does it in metal?

Also hope you didn't have a stroke there.

The first "metal" band I remember bringing in pop song writers was Korn for their not good 2005 album. I'm sure there are others who have done it I'm not remembering, but it does happen way more in rock.

Lol I’ve never jammed Ghost for their authenticity.

This album was a big return to form for me, huge choruses.

I don't mind the practice of it in theory if it's good. This is decent but a little too 80s cheese for my regular rotation. I had fun with it the weekend it came out. I already put in the same bin as David Lee Roth 80s solo stuff tbh.
