Don't be that quick to dismiss the claim. When it comes to the hype generated, their flamboyant live performances and the expectations of their 2nd album these are right up there with the rest of the shite and they are remembered. I'd say they certainly one of the biggest bands of the last 15yrs unfortunately Brandon obviously believed the hype.

I can't deny, there's some pretty good stuff scattered across this thing even if I really have no desire to spin it again.

No one was denying their popularity but I think he was commenting more so on the quality hence why he was basically saying their accomplishments are underrated.

Well obviously when it comes to the quality factor Glamorous Indie Rock n Roll is one of the greatest tunes of the last 30yrs.

“Not that it’s a competition, but I do feel sometimes people don’t have a grasp on what we’ve accomplished and what we’ve acquired.”
Still makes him sound like a big tool.

eh, musicians having egos is perfectly fine with me, ngl
he's been living and breathing his own music 24/7 for most of his life, who wouldn't lose perspective eventually

Everyone's so eager to write off celebrities that take a lot of pride in what they do as 'just assholes', when really, the universe is fickle and the music industry is even more so. If being convinced their music is the best thing ever created is what keeps the endless pit of sadness from overtaking their life, then let them have it, idgaf
Don't just call them a tool, you don't know anything about them, watch some Bojack Horseman or smth

"eh, musicians having egos is perfectly fine with me, ngl"
lol i wonder why
also i literally never said or implied any of those things, i know you were just speaking in general, but hating on celebs is kind of overrated tbh. it gets annoying fast. i just think his statement is silly.

yeah I was just speaking in general

It was just a joke
just remember where you came from when you get big kid.

I feel like they're still relevant even after a run of two commercially and artistically lackluster albums. The size and memorability of their best singles makes it hard for me to forget them as a band.

He's probably bitter about how they are one of the biggest bands in the UK, and outside of their debut they've never garnered much success since in the US.

'He's probably bitter about how they are one of the biggest bands in the UK, and outside of their debut they've never garnered much success since in the US.'
yeah, despite the fact that they should've had quite a bit of crossover appeal

This album still has some of the best singles ever
