i for one did not go in expecting a converge record i am just not all that impressed w the general songwriting and performances (chelsea sounds good tho and brodsky sounds alright) even meeting it on its own terms but like w/e it clearly has its fans

Let's say the ones that don't like are really loud about it.

I love everyone included in this project, but damn this turned out to be so unremarkable

Yknow there's something kind of wonderful and innocent about the fact that whenever an all-star collab like this comes along the fans all still get their hopes up, despite the dozens upon dozens of times such projects have wound up underwhelming

Not true. Mariner is incredible, ERR and Thou is nuts and even Anna Von Hausswolff short feature on Wolves in the Throne Room was really good.

Now you tell me the other dozens I am missing cause I can only think about these 3.

“I guess I haven’t listened to enough Cave In to figure it out for myself, but is Jacob doing the leads on Failure Forever? Because honestly he sounds great on this track.”

Sounds like Bannon sings the verse while Brodsky does the chorus

Yeah, there’s a big difference to me between rock ‘supergroups’, which are often just cynical attempts to cash in on their former glories, and genuine peer collaborations which are motivated by mutual admiration.

And this is the latter, I don’t think Converge or Chelsea need the extra attention.
