The Hunter is such an overlooked album, it's got some of their best tunes and was the band just having fun after how serious CtS was.

Anytime any song makes me go 'oh this is kinda cool' it's because they're always reformulating the bombasity of OMRTS, or the groovy riffs of The Hunter or the sludge of Leviathan or the radiorock vibes from EOS, and everytime I notice them I'm compelled to stop listening to this and go back to those albums that execute all of those sounds more interestingly and to greater effect. Listening to this album feels like walking into some long lost Mastodon's Greatest Hits Compilation, in the worst possible way
