By the way, the ending of "Halcyon" is the one of the best endings. Has a long drawn out scream at the end of the track that was much needed.
The only other better ending is from "Constance". The crushing, down shifting of tone and guitar scrapes really felt like my soul was being blown apart/destroyed.
Oh wait, sun killers half a song ending was pretty epic also...

Agree with Jay here, Strange World got that 2020s pop song with minimal arrangements behind then bam wall of guitars, underrated one.
And yes t/t is my favorite off the new ones, Silk just behind.

@Eternal Courtney actually stated one of her biggest inspirations for this record was Tears for Fears.

I'm not a huge fan of albums like this that are completely bipolar tonally and stylistically. Going from Secret Garden to Silk in the Strings is just.. what? Whole album feels so disjointed, it's not cohesive at all. Individually the songs might be good but as an album this often feels 'off' to me.
Also, I wonder if line from We Live In a Strange World "I'm Waiting For the Drop" is a little meta piece of self-awareness. That's literally the exact phrase I've used to describe this band, and it often is a gimmick they use a little too frequently.
Halcyon best track ya.

these songs just don't work as an album, they feel disjointed. and they sound like overproduced pop songs with heavy guitars and screaming instead of rapping or some stuff like this.
anyway Spiritbox is the Evanescence on steroids

that's what im saying
they tried too hard to be heavy for the sake of being heavy and it shows
listen to their first release and how naturally it flows compared to this

Makes me wonder again why they didnt include Blessed Be on the album.

Probably cause they do cookie cutter type bullshit with it

Uh idk a 5 on this is just waaay too much imo, even a 4.5 looks very fanboyish imo, but makes sense if you're REALLY into the style. The heavy shit like Holy Roller just fucking slaps, but stuff like Circle With Me is pretty forgettable imo

I mean, Spiritbox were already my favorite band in the scene before the drop. I also don't find any issues with anything other than parts of Yellowjacket (which is growing on me outside of the chorus). Prob around a 4.8 so 5 it is on this rating scale.

Also, I am a huge fangirl and it's kinda been obvious on every SB thread this year.

Yeah what's mildly ironic is they went like full on Liquid Metal sound, and the poppier stuff is actually better than the heavy now lol

@Garth - per Courtney via Apple Music:
“Constance”
“Just as ‘Sun Killer’ was always to be the opener and ‘Holy Roller’ was always meant as the middle point, followed by ‘Eternal Blue,’ ‘Constance’ was always meant to be the last song. But the lyrics didn’t really start to form until last year when my grandma passed away. Writing this song just helped me think about the feelings of losing someone, and it’s dedicated to her because she always wanted me to put out a song that doesn’t have screaming in it.”

Hm, "Hurt you" seems to be very unpopular here. Is it because of the rather generic riffs?
For me, it´s somwhere in the middle. In combination with the video I quite like it.
