So this Leprous album hey? Pretty tasty. Sometimes wish the songs on this and Pitfalls would get to the point a little quicker though.

This might be their best record yet. Kinda feels like every album they made makes some kind of an appearance here, but the collective is more dynamic, energetic, and playful... This will only get better on more listens I think, the first listen I was lukewarm but on second listen this sounds so much more intriguing.
In good fashion I also need to point out the production, which also is their best yet imo. The guitars aren't too low, as they were on Pitfalls, and every instrument can be heard because this isn't too compressed.

Yeah that's my only complaint, in some songs the build up is too long but most of the time is worth it.

After first few listens I wasn't sure if this can be a 4 and gravitated more torwards 3.5 but over giving it a try again and again it nicely rose to a solid 4. Their worst album for me (unless we count TPS but that's another story) but still a solid one

I can't put other score than 3.5/4 but for me this is a 3.7. I still think Pitfalls is a stronger album.

I also prefer Pitfalls. This is like a solid and more spontaneous execution of what you would expect them to sound like after Pitfalls. Good stuff, they just need to move on again with the next one

Out of Here is incredible. Really digging the first 3 tracks. Hopefully this stays great the whole way.

It does kinda feel like an 'in between' record, but that makes sense cause I totally didn't expect them to release a record that quick.

I agree. It's growing on me more than its initial listen, but so far it isn't as instantly mind-blowing as Bilateral or as cohesive as Pitfalls.

I watched the live stream and after Einar explanations of each song I think this album is kind of a frankenstein album, it has songs that they almost released on Malina or Pitfalls but they didn't in the end, then the song with the fans input and the Simen song.
Maybe because of that it doesn't feel as cohesive as others.

I think cohesiveness doesn't have to be a good thing. I'm a huge fan of diversity.

Diversity can mean being all over the place if it's poorly executed too, im not saying this album is like that tho.

Well, I kind of like when things are all over the place haha

The most common accusation people throw at Bilateral is it being all over the place. And yet it's their highest rated album on the site. If anything, this is probably the most subjective thing out of all.
Same as with Closure in Moscow on Pink Lemonade, people say it is too crazy and yet for me them jumping all over the solar system is the best thing they could have possibly done

Bilateral all over the place? I thought it was easily as stylistically consistent as their other albums - pretty crazy instrumentally, but hardly messy

^I agree Ledd. The tone is the same, even if each song is unique.

You guys just didn't get what I meant, I don't have anything against diversity, hell prog is one of the styles I listen to the most because of that, I mean the BAD type of all over the place, I clearly stated it can be BAD, wich doesn't mean it's exclusively bad (but it usually is by definition).
I don't even think Bilateral is "all over the place" it's a pretty tight and polished album.

Gotcha, there is a kindnof diversity that's just irritating and not fun or even funny (like on A Night at the Opera, when Death on Two Legs goes into Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon)

Haven't listen to it yet. Singles did not sound promising.

I don't think messy and in-cohesive mean the same thing. That being said, this isn't as cohesive as Pitfalls. For some that's a negative, but it's a huge positive for me. It kept me on my toes, and the songs don't stray too far away from another to feel messy. I love it.
