Yeah that’s an appropriate assessment of this.

I think it does for me because it feels so "classic" in the literal sense of being a throwback, but then it also incorporates modern country influences. It's like prog-psych-country which, at least to me, is pretty novel.

I agree sow, the only setback would be that every song uses the same vibe and formula, practically. Its cool how the floyd vibe is used to branch out from the indiecountry scene. Will def meet my year s list.

It's really not that novel to be quite honest, but that doesn't mean your personal experience with it is invalid!

Can't argue that Boney, you know way more country than I do. This was definitely my first experience with this sort of country music!

It's very dreamy/vibey, there are times I wish it launched into something more epic, but it feels like the kind of record where once I listen to it enough, I'll be glad for the restraint/maturity.

Hey! Tks a lot for giving it a go. I love the record and gave it a 4.5, cause I love the retro vibe, specially on the drumms, together with the radioheady floydisms. On other tunes it just pulls me straight to Nick Drake f.e.
I get that the album is overly long tho. Desert Raven and Natural Rhapsody are bliss for me.
I literally caught Desert Raven on alt radio the other day and shazam da fuck out of it. Glad I did it.
