Haha yeah, I checked their page after reading your comment last night. What a bunch of asshats. I’m ashamed that they’re Chevelle fans. Loved Checelle’s sardonic, lightly snarky retorts lol. Ain’t takin no shit. They’ve obviously been working their ass off getting orders out (we aren’t Amazon lol), so for a few rotten apples to show no appreciation would infuriate me too. I honestly would have been nastier — but you can feel them holding back some haha.

Chevelle are one of my favorite bands, but I do think Tool is better — that said, the constant comparison drives me up the fucking wall. They sound completely different. There’s only a slight resemblance between Pete and MJK’s vocals, and it’s very slight at that. Never understood this asinine and idiotic comparison

@twlitchty I agree it's very bland. I don't really comment on albums I have criticisms with but with this I feel compelled to because I should love this. They are definitely very competent and it's sound is very similar to Tool and APC, even the vocals.
However, I'm disappointed because it's so flat.
The heavier moments seem to take a leaf from the Butch Vig playbook of layering an additional rhythm guitar on top of the mix, coupled with the fact that it rolls along at a very steady pace and never really kicks it up a notch.
Still fairly decent overall but could be so much better imo.
