We’ll see if “caveman heavy” holds up cause Zao said their next album is supposed to be really whack and experimental with nary a standard breakdown to be found, clocking in at just under an hour

The sound/riffs/prod is very zao - well-intentioned virus. Converge is def on some of the vocals, those semi-melodic vocals are sooo awesome and on point. But on the overall writing they can sound very Mastodon/Neurosis kind of post.

Considering these guys have done a split with Zao, I wouldn't say the comparisons are far off at all.

I'm not usually a fan of the like hard rock-ish vox that are here but they work so well

dang I missed this, it's just so brutal. I keep expecting it to get old but they keep finding new ways to pummel my eardrums. Drumming in particular is fantastic.
