This album is so ridiculously epic. Oberst's best work IMO (just barely ahead of Wide Awake). This album makes me sad about, but somehow also perfectly okay with, the idea of the world ending.

The re-recorded eps are awesome. I would strongly suggest especially checking out the 95-97 re-recording of Solid Jackson… the original version is nearly unlistenable and the new one is absolutely stellar. Such a cool thing they’re doing

Review of that one at the very least is so warranted giving the giant leaps forward in quality

Yeah To Deaths Heart and Comet Song are top tier. I saw them in 12 and 22 and both concerts were great. I really love most of the re-recorded versions of songs on the EPs. There’s like 50 re-recorded songs, so it’s definitely a treat for long time fans like myself

New one is perfectly enjoyable. Nothing approaches this one's peaks, but it's consistently pretty good!

I was at the Bright Eyes secret show in Chicago and while Conor was certainly drunk he played great and was not rambling and fighting with band members the way he was last time he came through chicago… unfortunately it appears things took a turn the next night in Cleveland and culminated in him saying he was going to kill himself while on stage and not even being able to sing during the last few songs.

Glad they canceled the rest of the secret shows and aren’t playing riot today. Conor needs help and is not in any shape to be touring.

Unrelated: the new albums was alright and they played ~half of it live and it sounded good enough
