This isn't anything new, but I prefer this softer, more melodic side of Taylor Swift. Might be my favourite of her albums after a few spins

You can down that avg all you want Sputnik, that won't stop Tay Tay's rightful world domination.

She's probably doing okay with or without Sput's rating tbh.

I've never really liked her music all that much bar 1989, but this is pretty cool.

Love this review. I was trying to figure out why this album didn't quite click for me. I think Taylor Swift is a master of playing around in familiar spaces. She’s a master at expanding upon and using familiar lyrical and melodic tropes. I think that’s part of what gives her mass appeal. That her music is so comfortable for people. There’s comfort in familiarity. But there was just too much familiarity for me. Made me lose interest.

I think Better Than Revenge is a much bigger Paramore ripoff than The Story of Us

lolol that's so real. #3 was always the most overwhelming to me. "i know places" off 1989 also sounds exactly like ellie goulding, down to the stutters in the beginning

Imagine if High Violet was Only ever released with Taylor Swift’s grating vocals turned up to 11. That’s how I feel about this album.

I get the feeling this won’t last in the public eye at all.

probably true and probably 90% because of the total lack of pre-release promo

And 10% because your average music listener will find it boring.

Don’t see how Taylor’s vox are grating. She’s not an amazing singer by any means but it’s never less than pleasant even if the lyrics are occasionally cringe.

She’s got a great voice. Not grating.

She’s got many faults but that’s not one of em.

That’s not even singing though, it’s just poor judgment.
