I really feel like the thing that made this band interesting and stand out left with Louisa. Doomswitch is just meh, yeah Seans a monster and Alex is good but this is just so painfully dull. Worlds apart has some good tracks but overall its middling. This record sucked

Band really fell off after Worlds apart and even that didnt do anythint major for me. Old souls is my fav by them but i doubt will ever return to that sort of sound. They are really leaning into a more commerical sound now, which for me unfortunatly has made them lose the thing that made them stand out

anyone listened to Onslow? Lead Vocalist Alt Rock side project. It's alright if you dig that sort of stuff.

I can totally understand all the critics about this album. But I do have to say that it's catchy as hell. I got riffs and chorus (even the ones I didn't like (as Drown with me, How to Survive a Funeral and Erase Me)) in my Hell for days. It get heavy when it needs (Falling Ashes and That's Just Life). It leans a bit too much toward a more typical metalcore riffage but it still got that bit of a technicality in the rythmic placement and the structure (Bones particularly).
I tought it was mid in first listen but it hold far better the test of time that I tought. Fake your Own Death is really good.

And Doomswitch is not original but efficient AF. I bange my head to every riff and 00's. The trading of arsh vocal in the prechorus works perfectly as a build up for a chorus which, yes a bit cheesy, but memorable. Honnestly their best songs since Ols Souls with Dead Plains.
I'm but extatic for what come next

Im keeping my expectations low tbh. Seans vocals are now the sole draw to this band. They lost the atmosphere they had with Lousia's use of keys. With Booka they became so much commerical and her vocals where too poppy. They may turn it around but honestly i think what made them stand out for me has now passed

Contraband and Doomswitch are top tier songs for their more Metalcore side to me. And Alex voice and tone is far more relevant to the sound of the band. They still got riffs in them but yeah we won't get a new Requiem or Weeping Wasteland.
But let's not forget that they tour for the 10 years anniversary of Neverbloom. Maybe something will impregnate them.
But Neverbloom is my last stop in my run of their discography. (for now it's Old Souls>Lord Of Woe>Doomswitch>Contraband>Worlds Apart>How to Survive a Funeral). As a whole their entire catalogue still impresses me
