Hmm, I think Visions had a much smoother flow once you got past how all its immediate cuts came in the opening run

I thought 'Visions' was one of the most same'y albums of all time so that would be big if true

This one has 'woah, dark electro' songs and cookie cutter could be anyone pop songs with a bit of 'space chipmunk' to add an edge, plus the youtube single.

Hella variety

Chipmunk and autotune absolutely everything in order to sell. The dumb cunts absolutely lap it up.

referring to broadchurch vocal modulation techniques as autotune in 2020 is borderline luddite

It reminds me of that Bill Bailey sketch where the Edge loses his effects pedals half way through a U2 concert and you realise he's just jangling about playing any old guff

Imagine Grimes without the chipmunk effects, there'd be nowt there

Didn’t finish the last song but this was really good—love “4 aem”. Found “my name is dark” a bit dull

This is gonna follow the exact pattern that Art Angels did where you all are hesitant and standoffish at first then cuddling on the couch 6-12 months later.

Flow isnt the sole quality of coherence tho, nor is it always the most important. Some albums flow well just because they are utterly homogeneous and bland. The comparative aesthetic coherence here for me is largely conceptual, so even if different styles are tread, they mostly feel like they belong in the same ~universe~.

lmao that's like saying that folk would be lousy without acoustic guitars
