When I applying what I said to Drudkh, or replacing them with any other band with far right associations who aren't explicitly NSBM, of which there are many, the statements still apply. Nobody's saying you can't listen to Drudkh.

well that's what happens when you butt in later, the comments that started this was about venin saying she is shocked people listen to drudkh when they are "nazis". that's all i got on that, you can knock yourself out if you want. def not interested.

Threads like this (and the content therein) are precisely why these days I try to know as little about the artists whose music I enjoy as humanly possible. Cowardly? Sure. Selfish? Most likely. But i just want to listen to music, man.

That's valid. I have my beliefs and I prefer to be informed about most things, outside of music even, but I just separate at my discretion cause I don't expect musicians to be any better than people that don't make music.

i totally understand the sentiment

what makes it difficult for me is I don't want to be unintentionally funding institutions that disagree with my very existence so certain stuff is harder for me - if I wanna listen, there's ways to get to it, but I ain't buying a CD or attending a show of a band like that

i'm not entirely sure why tf they scored 4/5 on the "Black Metal: Is it Sketch?" list that got taken down then. Maybe they really were being defamed lmao (4/5 meant Nazis who spoke of it in the music)

yea i wish a more reputable list would come out so it wouldn't feel like i have to look up every band that isn't RABM or post-black to make sure they're okay (and even then, Harakiri for the Sky had that Audrey Sylvain incident they then fixed so I wouldn't say they're perfect but I think they're a lot cleaner overall - Alcest had Audrey on a track at one point too so meh)

can't be perfect all the time and i'm accepting that, but i'm going for maximum possible harm reduction. not asking for perfection i just don't feel good if i'm giving money to people who i know for certain don't want me here.

There's a lot of BS in bm but if you just take the music for what it is then it's quite literally the most rewarding genre of music imo. It has helped me through so much in my life and continues to do so.
