From Twitter:

"Guys I'm sure Matt Skiba is drying his tears with wads of $100 bills and low-key delighted he never has to play "Built This Pool" ever again"

on the plus side, Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs were great and are underappreciated.

on the downside, Skiba seemed to be the thing holding things together. I don't trust Mark and Travis to cook up anything interesting these days. This album was atrocious and while "Edging"....ugh.... could be the comeback single to usher in another golden age, it's lame to see them go back to the well of ZaNy BoNeR jokes at nearly 50 years old when Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs and their self-titled showed maturity and growth as to what Blink could be if they took themselves a little more seriously. Fully expect the next record to be Nine part 2, with more lame innuendo and fortnite dancing

I don't think Mark and Travis really gave Skiba lots of creative freedom, I'd love to see a long interview where we learn what Skiba actually did and did not do on the albums. I wouldn't be surprised if most/all of the guitar is not him, that it is Mark or Feldman.

Can we talk about Remember To Forget Me? I know it wasn't intentional but it's a really great way to end Skiba's time in the band. An actual good song, he even sings the final chorus. Kinda moving, ngl.

I'd like to see any song of the new project be better than No Heart To Speak Of but I loved Lifeforms so we'll see.

My expectations for the new album are very low. The single they drop tomorrow is crucial but, again, being called "Edging" isn't a great start.

Neighborhoods is fantastic

The new single is already better than anything from the Skiba era lol. They finally sound genuine again with Tom.

New single was alright. Tom said the real shit is on the album.

The last thing they recorded was Dogs Eating Dogs and was some of their best work. Pretty hyped
