"but theres also other stuff that was Deathcore ranging from the late 90s and early 2000s."
i assumed you preferred mid-2000s-late 2000s deathcore because:
"Deathcore still hasnt had anything great in over 10 years."
deathcore still doesnt produce anything amazing, but its definitely better than it has been in a long time.
"The 2010s have given way to tons of Deathcore bands with slightly more tech elements. Bands such as Abiotic, Enterprise Earth, Signal the Firing Squad etc. all of which including this band while are surely better than the likes of Suicide Silence or Despised Icon and other late 2000s stuff still dont even come close to the earlier stuff. These guys aside from their awfully thin and weightless symphonic elements arent really anything special."
i havent heard Abiotic or Signal the Firing Squad, but Enterprise Earth still make breakdowns an integral part of their music, and as i said, what sets SOI apart from most other deathcore is lack of reliance on breakdowns (and theyre much "riffier" than most deathcore) and the symphonic elements. regardless of what you think of this, its not "generic".

I wont disagree that Deathcore is better now than it was in late 2000s but it still isnt anything id write home about. I should try to get used to saying past 15 years instead of past 10 years would prob make more sense since were approaching the end of this decade.
The lack of breakdowns doesnt really add up for much when the tech elements themselves dont do all that much that those bands dont do as well. Its just average Tech Deathcore even if it doesnt rely heavily on breakdowns. Enterprise Earth are worse than this ill say that at least. Being more riffier doesnt say much when the riffs themselves are still at the same bar as any other tech Deathcore band in this decade.

Hate is indeed a bop. Unfortunately they've been trying to make the same album 3 times since then and keep failing.

The only song by TAIM that I can enjoy is They Will Know Another. They did a more melodic slightly Misery Signals influenced sound pretty decently.
Ill probably try out the new one just to see how its like when I feel like torturing myself.

Remember when you called this album "this year's River Of Nihil" just to bait me in to listening

It was a prediction based solely on the reception and envisaged backlash/counter-argument. I hadn't even listened to the album at that point. However, if you want an ill-fitting comparison, this is actually the better release.

I’ve always really liked this band. Gonna have to get on this soon.
Also think Rivers of Nihil slayz.
