The St. Pierre Snake Invasion - Caprice Enchanté

Came out last month, has a little punk flavor and reminds a little bit of Glassjaw's EYEWTKAS/Worship & Tribute era (in style, not in quality). Good stuff. Remystery and Casanovacaine are bangers

Huh, I am intrigued. If nothing else that band name is spectacular.

Ataxico (the album before this one), is pretty good - the brevity provides a nice contrast. The production lends itself to the more hardcore-orientated sound as well... definitely packs a punch.

I sincerely doubt it'll be surpassing this near-masterpiece, but it's a good time.

You're right, it's a lot more about a straight-up hardcore assault. In that way it has arguably heavier moments, but I find the instruments aren't as engaging and the songwriting variety is much less in comparison to this.

this>atáxico>principia

reversed chronologically and in quality...Principia shows a lot of potential and I found it super awesome tbh, melo vocals are so "thrown" and too much out of key though. It's something Glassjaw do but in the right doses, and in a more thoughtful manner. I still 4'd them both. Ataxico is relentless and short m/

This is definitely their peak so far, and I can even see them going further.

I still think Principia is better but I'm just a sucker for its production and quieter moments, as opposed to this which sounds like madness in a basement

I wouldn't go that far, that sounds to me like this is disorganized which is most certainly is not.

Still my strongest candidate for album of the year consideration. Time to see if the rest of the year can deliver something to topple it! My eyes are certainly set on WRVTH, but you never know who might show up.

Definitely won’t have heard as much as you, but for what it’s worth I agree.

Same, but like, that hasn’t come out yet. Dark horse: Blood Incantation. Wildcard: Disillusion.

Yeah it’s called Hidden History of the Human Race (weird title I know), releasing in around Nov-time last I heard, unless it’s all gone out the window? Definitely a thing though.

Appearently they played the new album in full at that Fire in the Mountains festival in Wyoming. The lineup for that fest was so stacked

This second half of the year might be very very veeery stacked depending on how things fall.

And I wish I could've seen that...

The album came out exactly a month ago and we couldn’t be happier with the way it’s been received. Thanks a lot for this really sweet review

Hey, I appreciate it, thank you very much. Wouldn't have written it the way I did unless the album's quality warranted it!
