She is still pretty reticent to write clear lyrics despite how blunt songs like dermatillomania are. But if you know the context of her life you can suss it out.

We need some more love for "Hum" and "Rattle..." The two sleeper hits of the record.

"Yeah she said in an interview that Value Inn sounds exactly like it felt like to make it and that really comes through"
Those are both the best and worst songs to make. Like during it you are in a real fuckin dark place, but after you look back on it (presumably feeling better) youre like "wow, i made that?"

Yeah she has said she's doing great now and I can't imagine playing these songs over and over every night while you're trying to stay positive
Also @budgie her and her husband are super cute BUT really it depends on how much u love wrestling

Lmao both times I met them they told everyone they bonded most over a shared obsession with wrestling, and they really know their stuff, talked about it for like 45 minutes with my friend

Value inn is incredible indeed. I only recently started reading the lyrics and they definitely give the album more emotional weight

i actually like Cocksure slightly more than Wheel, which is my least favorite LS.

I've only heard Low Slow and Value Inn off of this so far and both were great.

Is it bad that Dermatillomania is my favorite on this? It's the most similar to her old stuff, which she is obviously trying to break away from on this one, but I just love that sound so much.

The end of that song, which I quoted in my review, is one of my favorite parts of the record.

That's the part that makes it for me, the melodies all playing off of each other is insane on that track

"I check every Stevenson album as they come to try and understand the fuss and they just seem to get less and less remarkable every time rendering me more and more confused about the hyperbolic acclaim."
This.
