I've only heard a couple of these songs (because every girl here seems to love her for some reason), but from what I've heard this is so run of the mill

Listening again, album is very ‘musical cut and paste’- you could probably work the chorus of ‘Crown’ into any of the other first half songs - just amp up the distortion of the last line of the verse then drop the beat
This is actually way worse than I remember

yes but what about when the party's over
like, any love for the vocal melody there at all?

I can legit see either side of the argument for this album but that song is just really undeniably good

When The Party's Over is a very good song, Sowing.
One song does not an album make - if I may revert oddly to yoda-speak.
Edit: I'm capitalizing in protest.

Right, I happen to enjoy a good bit of this. What I'm saying is I can step back and objectively see why someone would dislike all these songs - but 'when the party's over' is the toughest one for me to see someone hating.

It doesn’t seem that special Sow, it’s better than what preceded

I dunno maybe I'm just crazy but the pauses & restraint add so much impact to when the melody comes flooding back in

"It doesn’t seem that special Sow, it’s better than what preceded."
It's a coherent song which demonstrates things sorely lacking from the rest of the album, restraint, simplicity, some maturity, and a strong consistent melody.
Honestly, there's some solid hooks in the rest of this. Not much of it comes together that well for me. I still don't know why she's whispering everything.

anyone who kinda digs this but wishes she was trying to be less edgy should check her ep, lovely pretty little pop music on there

finally gave this a listen and it's not nearly as bad as some have made it out to be and not nearly as good as some melons have proclaimed.

Cover is hot garbage agreed

"when the party's over" is a beaut, agreed, but those final three trump everything. "I love you" is a top 5 song of the year for me. The entire back-half is really strong and focused imo. It's only the first six or so tracks that have some pacing and coherency issues.

not sure how i feel about this yet. it's kinda obnoxious sometimes but i do like some parts. also not sure if it's because i got more used to her style, but the 2nd half was significantly better to me

The lyrics are pretty bad at times. I hate the edgy "sad girl" aesthetic. Billie as a brand is quite annoying. But if you deny that this is a well produced, fun, and ultimately enjoyable pop album, you aren't separating the image from the music.

The image is better than the music tbh

Underestimated how good this would be, was initially turned off by how annoying some of her fans are
