fulton street i is one of the best examples of how good this band is. even though it might not be their best song, it's probably the one i would reach for to show a new listener what they can do.

the "I've never put flowers by the street!" line just hits so hard. I tried Wildlife as well but I think this album's helping ease my way into them. I'll go back and give that one another go once I've digested this more

this album works better from start to finish than wildlife. that one has some of their absolute best songs (including what is objectively their best song, "king park"), but i think it's a little bit harder to digest as a whole because the songs are so narratively different from each other

"View From Our Bedroom is essentially a better version of Footsteps by the Pond"
um what lol
Yeah Fulton Street 1's my easy favorite here. and yeah Wildlife is pretty dense

That synth/guitar/electronic sounding thing adds a lot to Footsteps

as apparent as the mwY comparisons are, the vocalist reminds me slightly of Spanish Love Songs at times

So glad this turned out so good. An improvement on RoTH in every way. Gonna need more time with it to get into the lyrics, but on par with their earlier material imo. Footsteps At The Pond and There You Are are the most standout right now.

I definitely heard both in there, yeah. That mixture could be part of why the instrumental composition and pacing that support the vocals are so satisfying. They put a unique emphasis on what the album is saying.

Am I the only one who thinks Fulton II is just a little bit better than I?

I prefer to listen to them pretending it's one long epic track but if I had to pick I'd take Fulton II

Fulton II and Rhodonite are 2 of their best songs ever.

Hell yeah. Are we all in agreement that In Northern Michigan is the weakest song? Or is it just me?

"FULTON STREET I is like my song of the year so far damn"
That, "Memorial Day" and "As Above, So Alone" are my top three tbh. It's the sonic equivalent of watching a car crash without being able to look away and getting a sick kick out of it
And no weakest for me is probably "There You Are (Hiding Place)" just for being the least memorable
