Highly encourage everyone to watch the short 20 minute holy ghost doc they made prior to this albums release. If anything at least watch the footage of them playing Gone With the Wind which begins at 14:15.

Death Is Not Defeat honestly could have been better just by cutting some of the unnecessary repeats to the chorus and just leaving the instrumentals. Namely the first and second before verse 1, and the second to last. There's basically no room for the other guys to shine on that track.

@Feather Ye think most people have watched it, but yes pretty emotional video...
I had already watched the concert beforehand and it got me all choked up

this in the new best music category on the front page is honestly a travesty, especially with that text.

I think Death is Not Defeat is a phenomenal opener. The song structure isn't so formulaic and the second verse breakdown is fresh as fuck.

If only there was more room for the other musicians to shine, like 3 of the repeats of the hook (including the first couple) could be left instrumental and it wouldn't feel so repetitive to me.

With what I would've done, the first line of the song would be "Holding tight to what's left of our time", not "when I leave this skin and bone." And the instrumental line would be completely unchanged.

Ye this album probably won't convince people that generally dislike Architects otherwise, but I thought they did a pretty good job of bringin' it.

I've had this album on repeat since it came out. Cannot even count how many times I have listened to it in full, dozens. Easily my aoty.
SO HOLD A FLAME TO THESE WORDS
ENOUGH PRESSURE WILL CREATE A DIAMOND
Surprisingly I enjoy the last track a lot too, the singing is a nice change of pace. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of that on their next album as long as they don't completely change their sound.

It is in my top ten for sure, but I'm a sucker for metalcore either way.... DreamAgain have you checked Greyhaven's album tho? It rules, best metalcore release in a few years imo
