Converge I'm already familiar with. And not likely Hawks, worst I could see myself giving them based on what i know is maybe a 3.

This guy is like a slightly endearing dilton

Edit: except like receptive to ideas, not a crazy narcissist, and probably not a 25 year old scene bean. Ok maybe they’re nothing alike other than the level of aloofness

This gained way too many pgs to read through. But as far as how he’s looked at as one of the greats of his generation, I wish I understood why. It’s not like I enjoy actively disliking artist lol. There are fantastic beats all over this thing. I even like a lot of it lyrically. But I just can not get past how annoying his voice is. It distracts from every other thing going on. And as far as this being 90+ minutes of bangers; the only good songs here imo are Don’t Cry and Mona Lisa. Uproar is the next best tack for me but I always end up shutting it off because I get so irritated by his voice. This would be an amazing album if they just slapped a different mc on here.

I actually complete agree (with your rating), I find this to be very overbloated and a majority of it is filler. There’s some really great unexpected lyrical moments here but I don’t really personally listen to weezy for his lyrical or flowing ability, I listen to him for his charisma and clever punchlines on top of great production. And it fell short for me in those ways, just felt too serious and lost a bit of his happy go lucky guiltless fun.
