this is one of those albums where the true greatness wasn't unravelled unless you were around when it came out.....somehow, it doesn't transfer over to the younger folks

many of them have the 2 albums with the 'new singer' rated higher than this semi-masterpiece....crazy to me

No one said it was akin to modern pop. Or am I missing something?

only song with pop elements was the radio single that was released, and for obvious reason.....cut it out JT

Every song here has pop elements. That's hardly a bad thing, though.

Agreed that this is better than the latest 2 but those ones are still great.

far from pop as most of these songs contain progressive elements as well as structures albeit it does package the songs in a manner that is soft on the ears....perhaps much of that is due to the residual effect of the hair metal era still having its influence....timing was critical

An accurate description of pop elements in 1990 rock music would be more aligned with the likes of Def Leppard and Aerosmith, not Queensryche.

Some songs on here such as Another Rainy Night are drenched in 80's pop influence.

But now my take-out food is growing cold,
and the candle's burned a hole in the floor.
And I'm still waiting for the ring of the phone.

The whole Jet City Woman / Della Brown / Another Rainy Night ensemble is an excellent journey.

Considering upping my rating for this. Been binging nonstop on the first six releases this week after quite some time. Geoff still sounds fantastic on this one, even with the alteration/deepening of his voice reaching a noticable point here.

Say what you will about the current version of him but the man had one of the best voices in the buisness. Especially from the EP to this, it's not only a pleasure to listen to the mastery of the voice but also kind of interesting to follow the slight evolution of it.

In fiscal year nineteen eighty six to eighty seven

Local, state and federal governments spent

A combined total of sixty point six million dollars on law enforcement

Federal law enforcement expenditures ranked last in absolute dollars

And accounted for only six percent of all federal spending

By way of comparison, the federal government spent twenty-four million more on space exploration

And forty-three times more on national defense and international relations than the law enforcement
