Still not sure what problem people are having with his vocals on this. He sounds fantastic as ever to me (he sounded way worse in Puscifer tbh).

^this for sure. The album is not perfect but his vocals definitely aren't the issue

I just don't feel his delivery here. To me, it lacks the incredibly emotional and tough to sing highs that were all over the first two records. This was what always drew me to APC. The only song on here that does these things for me is TalkTalk
Also, after three listens, i don't know how i feel about ETE as an album. Might be a grower

I get what you mean, it's definitely a more surface-y album and the vocals are not as involved and vulnerable/powerful as they were on the first 2 records but they work for me for some reason. There's not a moment here where I think Maynard is dropping the ball. My main issue is this is far less guitar-driven and more piano-centric which takes some getting used to.

I actually really like the piano melodies but a little more guitar would have helped it quite a bit, so i agree with you there

@sizeofanocean That's exactly what I mean. His delivery feels so flat, and the lyrical content is actually worse than previous albums.

Depends on what you look for. Although I agree with the vocal involvement being an issue, you're forgetting the album tackles a completely different issue than the previous records. This album isn't about as much of an emotional subject matter. There may be some emotional songs, but the album is more about society than personal issues.

Maybe the album just isn't for me, then. I'll concede that much.

APC is more popular, more divisive and easier to review than Sleep haha

I take back everything I said about “Get the lead Out”, it’s wonderful

I understand why someone would be put off by the first minute of that song, but man it has so much to offer beyond that. The guitar part in the middle is great.
I guess it's a typical case of people not seeing beyond the most initial, superficial reaction they have. The case for this album as a whole, too, tbh.

Explain Get The Lead Out cause it still sucks to me.

I mean, it's obviously not one of the better tracks on here, but it has an interesting soundscape, and I like the string pizzicatos in combination with the electronic sound of the song. And like I said, the guitar is reeeeally cool.

MetalSucks generally praised the album, but was more critical to its more mellow sound, concluding that it was a "... good one, and if it's anything like APC's other records, it will get better with age...it's definitely worth your time, just don't expect [a return to] Mer De Noms.
100% AGREE

I'd say that APC worked as a therapy for me in terms of having been single for years, even though the lyrics has nothing to do with relationships...

Although there are some lyrics related to relationships in mer de noms.

Ily Rodrigo, I've been wondering where you were. Your opinion on this is the only one I care about tbh.

Thanks! and I've been really busy since I was doing 8 subjects this years but since I didn't have the time enough to study for all of them I decided to do only 6 subjects plus sometimes I write comments that nobody cares about and I'm still trying to improve my English, so yeah, but thanks for your support
