I'm joining in to say 'Keep You' is their best stuff, but that's the only album I like from them.
'Wait for Love' seems like the same bland stuff, but with less screaming and distortion which overall seemed like fluff for the overall "eh" music. I'll give that I found more interesting parts in the previous records than this one.
Really the only tangible good thing here is that, when I paid for it, the money went to a charity.

“How is it possible to like Keep You and not like The Lack Long After???”
you’re a literal cop, plain and simple

I don't know, man. I really like this one. And I'll reiterate: I. Don't Know. I'm usually pretty hip to the jive about what's objectively good or not good (ich that sounds so douche-y) I liked older skrmzy Pianos (Old Pride, Lack) because it was super emotive and dynamic (Hiding is also sick). Then I heard Keep You and I'm like cool, new direction of sound, new approach to their songwriting, more melody opens up a few doors for a more interesting album experience. Over time though Keep You was so goddamn sad that I'm like damn guys I don't wanna feel so sad this much. Then this one drops and I'm like THIS is more like how I feel. I honestly have more of an emotional attachment to this one than I have any other Pianos release before this. I keep coming back to a lot of these songs because I honestly can't get them out of my head. Once again, I don't know how this happened.

Listening to the first song and it really really reminds me of Anberlin or something

Wish I could like it more, but I've reached my bounds on it. Credit where credit is due, but I can't pass up the flaws

Hmm, this is rather boring overall tbh. Every song sounds the same.

The biggest problem I have with the album is the middle stretch of tracks 4-6 Dry Spells, Bay of Dreams, and Forever Sound just aren't that good.

A big cause of the "sounds the same" phenomenon is due mostly to the vocalist in my opinion. Song structures are similar, but there's enough variance included to make them distinguishable, especially if a different singing delivery was applied.
And I guess I'm in the minority, I like both Dry Spells and Forever Sound (if only for the ending)

These are my thought on this album pretty much exactly. Drumming is amazing, everything else is aggressively meh.

"A big cause of the "sounds the same" phenomenon is due mostly to the vocalist in my opinion."
A big cause of the sounds the same phenomenon is people not giving this its due time, in my opinion. It's an argument people use when they don't comprehend what the fuck they're listening to. Like a guy being introduced to rap or country; "it all sounds the same." It's a poor argument at best not to like something, unless you're referring to a 90s-early millenium rock group like Nickelback or Default or some shit.

Do it, and maybe take a walk while you're at it. It seems a fair amount of people listening to this aren't in the right mindset to appreciate what's there.

I heard it front-to-back at least six times my man. Dug into certain songs individually even more so. And as Hawks said, some people aren't just going to click with this for their own reasons.

I think this guy basically summed it up as to how I feel about this album. But, in the end, the only opinion about this album that matters is your own, and that's cool. As you can see I'm still going strong with the 5, haha.
