Assemblage, I personally thought Recovery was miles above the rest of the "R" series. Relapse had great production but Em did that horrible accent almost the whole time, and Revival had a bunch of throwaway tracks and unnecessary guest spots. Recovery was an energetic, competent [sort of] return to form.

I think after Eminem Show, everything is five shitty tracks too long that obscure the quality and focus of the rest of the album that works.

Encore and Relapse rule nerds
This does not though unfortunately

Recovery definitely has the genuine feel of MC'ing throughout almost the entirety of it though.

I mean at the least, just his last five albums sound nearly completely different from each other so there's something to be said of that. Although they're all about equal in the amount of substance. Seems like he's really trying to find something to settle in as of late, like he catches a stride but then loses steam.

relapse looks better with every album that comes after it

def wouldn't say that. Recovery and MMLP2 are good imo
Hell The Sequel is his best album since the original MMLP tho

I haven’t listened to relapse or recovery in full, but the singles off of recovery were puke-worthy. I actually liked the Relapse accent in the songs I heard, being 3 AM and We Made You. MMLP2 was pretty dece. No idea how in the fuck he followed mmlp2 up with this shit heap

I'd say give recovery another shot.
Not Afraid and Love the Way You Lie are literally the worst songs on that album.
On Fire is legit just as good as his best songs imo

I wanted this to be good so badly

Yeah same honestly. Unbelievable how bad this is. I don't see how he can bounce back after this.

I kind of want him to try and come out with one more good one and then leave gracefully but then again, if he fucks up it will just be one more album that he released that sucks

Agreed
At this point I don't really think another bad release will damage his reputation even more so what does he have to lose?

Imo he should never pick up a mic to record new material again. This record makes me think he’s completely lost touch with reality.

Even if he comes out with something half-decent it's still going to be shitted on, case in point the chloraseptic remix

Mmlp 2 is incredible imo. Can't believe he followed it up with this. This is like it's failed abortion of a brother

Also you gotta check Beautiful from Relapse that's a top 5 em song. It was made in 2006 right before he almost died of a drug overdose

MMLP2 Dragged on too long and had some straight up odd samples, but at least that album was fun. This is just painful. I have actually heard Beautiful, just forgot which album it was on. Love that song
