Bass and guitar can sound very similar tbh depending on certain factors

This could be stellar if it were a 30 minute track. Every section is painfully drawn out, and no matter how atmospheric and cool it is at times, it just doesn't make sense to wait around for 80 minutes to finish one track.

"I suck at guitar, but give me a week and I'll come up with something more interesting than this."
Oh I'm DYING to find out

I don't even feel like it's really all that drawn out. Yeah, it's an 80-minute song, but it feels like two separate tracks to me and nothing feels without purpose or like they were just trying to make it long.

the second track is absolutely slowcore

"the second track is absolutely slowcore"
no

Pulling up a genre description: "The music of slowcore artists is generally characterized by downbeat melodies, slower tempos and minimalist arrangements."
The passages with singing from 48 mins onwards sound a lot like your typical Low song. The indie influence over those segments of the album are clear.

I get a way different vibe than with slowcore tbh

Listen, folks. I recently recorded a 55 second piece of audio magnificence on this "Spire" app of mine. Yeah, it's nothing special, just me noodling on my guitar. But at least it's 55 seconds and not 80+ minutes. How do I upload my 55 second magnificence?

Maybe it was intended to go nowhere
Symbolizing how we go nowhere when we die
Our whole lives we grow and flower with each new experience
But all the while we're only growing upwards, never changing direction
Progressing towards a fixed point
Then the reaping comes and it's over
And when you look back, your whole life was really just the same pattern repeating in perpetuity
A progression to nowhere
A field of wheat before the inescapable sickle of death
