a continuation from 2016 of esteemed bands releasing total fucking stinkers
didn't think anyone would outdo Humanz at being being both boring and garbage, but these guys went above and beyond this time around

I wanted to like at least one song on this but Regine's contributions on 'Put Your Money on Me' are so terrible I'm thinking even that song blows now :[
I don't think any song rates above a 3

I feel the same Doof, none of these songs are great. The best ones are simply good, and even then usually repetitive and have something annoying about them.

Haven't listened yet, and as much of an Arcade Fire fan as I am, I was expecting at some point their hot streak to come crashingly to an end. Having said that, I look forward to forming my own judgments and will probably (hopefully) find some redeeming qualities here. Will report back soon..

lmao that average. Even Pitchfork couldn't defend this.
It's a shame because there are some really good instrumental sections on this, but the repetition & singing kinda ruins nearly every potential good moment.

pitchfork review was harsher than the score indicates

I am tired of trying to like stuff when is so clear that is just... bad. They had better times, better songs, so time to move on.

funny you say that, manuel; i think the problem is they're trying too hard to move on

A pretty common occurrence, especially when the album in question is one by someone they've loved in the past. They're pretty wimpy when it comes to giving lower ratings, below a 6.5 is effectively a pan for them.

As much as I tended to disagree with him, I really miss Brent DiCriscenzo. That guy could tear an album apart like no one else. Anyone know what he's been up to since he stopped writing for pitchfork?

No Jack, I'm the one moving on from the record lol
